Feb 9, 2010 - Jesus was a normal man on earth, but you say he was not perfect. Of course he was perfect. He did not sin ever on earth. He is God and cannot sin. Jesus came to change things, which is why so many jews were angry at him. But everything he done was right, there was no sin, he came so that sin could be forgiven. "Jhn 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?" You realize you are agreeing with his accusors right? When you say that you are a son of God, are you claiming to be God? Should we accuse you of that then pick up stones to stone you?

"Jhn 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." Do you honestly think that Jesus starts talking about Abraham, then blurts out 'I am God'? If so the verse would read, "before Abraham was I am the am". However, it doesn't say that, plus it would be ridiculous if Jesus started blurting out that he is God in mid sentence of another topic. cont...

Feb 21, 2010 - LOL, you are taking it out of context. For one Jesus said He existed before Abraham if He is saying He is the I AM or not. Second if you read the verse before verse 58 they are asking how Jesus can say He knew Abraham. Then if you rad verse 59 you see the Jews wanted to stone Him. And then read John 10:33 why the Jews wated to stone Jesus.

And f you read on past verse 36, in 38 Jesus says He is in the Father, and the Father is in Him. Adding to the fact that Son of God meant one with God. And they sought to grab Him again for claiming to be God in the next verse.

If you are stating that "I am" means "God", it would read, "Before Abraham was God". Everyone would agree with that statement. This DOES NOT say anything about Jesus claiming to be God at all. Please, be honest with the text, rather then following what the masses are telling you to believe.

You can only take the verse John 8:58 three ways, 1) Jesus blurted out that he is God, in mid sentence of another topic. The text doesn't support that & it would be nuts 2) Replacing "I am" with "God". Jesus would be saying "Before Abraham was God" 3) Jesus is simply saying he existed before Abraham. "before Abraham was I am(I existed)." Which way do you believe is accurate?

Feb 23, 2010 - I think He was saying He is the I AM. Why would the Jews want to stone Him for saying He existed before Abraham? That would just make Him a nut if He wasn't saying He was God. For in Verse 51 Jesus says to keep MY saying and they all ready knew He was saying He is God, and then saying before Abraham I AM, sealed the deal for them. They went to stone Him, and like in John 10:33 the Jews went to stone Him for claiming to be God. Why else would they stone Him, what sin did He have?

It is similar in nature to "elohim" of Hebrew, which likewise did not always mean "The Almighty One" whom they worshipped. So the Jews wanted to stone Him...and? This doesn't make them correct or honest. Why are you believing the sworn enemies of Christ, whom He denounced as blind and ignorant? You don't take their word on everything else they say, do you?
